On Saturday, October 18, 2025, our Lending Hearts families came together for a wonderful day at The Warhol Museum.
Our group was split in two. We took turns alternating between creating screen print images in the new art studio and touring the museum with Andy Warhol’s nephew, Donald Warhola.
Donald is a great friend to Lending Hearts. He shared the early years of Andy, how he was a very shy child and turned to art and photography during his time of sickness. His mother, Julia, was a tremendous influence on his art career. Before his father, Andrei, passed away, he instructed Andy’s older brother, John (Donald’s dad), to make sure Andy went to college.
Andy was the first in the family to attend college and went to Carnegie Mellon University (formerly known as Carnegie Tech).
Andy was the first to successfully bridge fine art with commercial art and created a legacy and style was embraced by pop culture.
Andy faced many difficulties, but he always sought ways to build upon adversities and do so with compassion and understanding.
We are extremely grateful to Donald and everyone at The Warhol Museum for their time and generosity in hosting us and giving us a memorable experience. We can’t wait to come back and take on another type of art project!
