Updated: May 14

On May 2, 2024, Lending Hearts presented special guest speaker, Aimee Lamendola, during LECOM (Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine) Grand Rounds, a methodology of medical education and inpatient care, that presents medical problems and treatments to medical students. Through this ongoing partnership, Lending Hearts will support LECOM’s Graduate Medical Education Office in the development of residents and faculty in order to help them achieve success throughout their professional careers. During 2024, Lending Hearts will present 4 guest speakers across quarterly Grand Rounds. Aimee is a Certified Benson Henry Institute of Mass General Hospital “Positivity, Resilience and Relaxation Program” (PART) Instructor, a HeartMath Certified Coach/Mentor, and an E-RYT 500 Certified Yoga Instructor with over 3000 hours of teaching. Aimee’s presentation titled, “Balance the Stool of Well-Being,” focused on the importance of stress management and self-care as a medical student and as a professional to help improve care-taking of others.

LECOM and Lending Hearts are also partnering together to initiate a formal Lending Hearts club on the LECOM Erie campus, but LECOM students from all campuses can be a member of the Lending Hearts LECOM Club. Lending Hearts provides emotional, social and physical support to those living with cancer, with a special focus on the needs of children and young adults as well as their families and caregivers. Through personal connections and a holistic approach to well-being, we help our Lending Hearts family move forward with resilience and positivity through treatment and remission.
